Comic Picks By The Glick

Thanks to the great Viz manga shrinkage, I finally get around to seeing if this shonen action/fantasy series is as good as everyone says it is.

The first volume of "The Complete ElfQuest" belongs in any serious comic fan's library.  Now if only Dark Horse would get around to reprinting the rest of what came after so I can actually enjoy "The Final Quest."

Garth Ennis may have created "Crossed," but Si Spurrier is the first to show that another writer can do it justice.

One of the weakest Marvel events in recent memory.  At least it allowed me to get caught up on Cullen Bunn's "Magneto!"

My thoughts on volumes 21 & 22 as the series wraps up in a satisfying way that still isn't on par with the best it has had to offer.

Could be said to follow on from this.  My thoughts on "Wytches" vol. 1, "Rumble" vol. 1, "Invincible" vol. 21, "The Wicked + The Divine" vol. 2, and "The Autumnlands" vol. 1 -- listed and discussed in ascending order of quality.

Brian Wood's creator-owned follow-up to "DMZ" has its moments, but never fully realizes its potential.

Mike Carey and Peter Gross' story about stories isn't part of Vertigo's A-list, but is a solid read overall.
